Our western Durham service area is Pickering and Ajax, with Ajax marking the eastern point of the approved territory. This page does not extend coverage to Whitby or Oshawa. Tell us your address and whether you want a new room or to enclose an existing covered space.
Why Serene in Durham Region
Unmatched durability and design in Ontario. Every four-season and three-season sunroom we build in Durham Region uses the finest sunroom window, door and roof systems on the market, precision-manufactured by Living Space and installed white-glove by our own local team.
Pickering’s housing discussion paper describes its 2021 mix of detached houses, semi-detached houses, townhouses and apartments. That mix does not tell us the structure or garden at your address. For a Pickering detached home, we begin with the rear elevation and existing roof. For an Ajax attached-house enquiry, identify shared walls, access and any condominium ownership first. We review those constraints before offering a standard footprint or treating a patio as ready for enclosure.
In either Pickering or Ajax, send photographs of the existing roof, deck or slab and its connection to the house. If you want to reuse a covered patio, we need to establish what is there before recommending an Integrated design. If the base or roof cannot support the proposed scope, the quote must describe the required work. Tell us how the garden is used now, including the door-to-yard route and privacy needs, so the added room improves daily use.
From about $50,000 (10×10); most custom rooms $75,000–$80,000+. Every room is custom-quoted.
In more depth
Pickering’s Building Services page lists sunrooms and solariums among projects requiring a permit and directs applicants to its municipal online service. Ajax’s Building Permits and Inspections page lists sunrooms and additions and provides its Online Application Portal and buildingpermits@ajax.ca contact. We handle the permit through the service responsible for your address. Durham Region is the geographic label here; it does not replace the local sunroom building-permit route or settle property-specific zoning requirements.
For your Pickering consultation, show the view from the proposed seating area and the buildings or trees around it. For Ajax, include the main roof above the proposed room and where rainwater leaves the existing patio. These observations help us discuss winter use, roof junctions, summer shade and privacy. A three-season Aéré room and a conditioned four-season addition have different scopes. We choose the envelope and conditioning for your intended use and confirm site loads through the project design.
